This is a non-technical checklist of what needs to be done to upgrade to Version 2.01 of the standard. (There are a number of optional features, but this list contains the bottom line.)
Activity Standard
Things you MUST do
- At the moment you can publish data fields (elements) in any order. In 2.01 you MUST published in the order specified here.
- You MUST correctly report the version of the standard you are using
- There are more mandatory fields. Each Activity MUST contain:
- a valid activity identifier; a valid reporting organisation identifier; a funding or implementing organisation; a title and description; a start date; an activity status; a sector; a recipient-country or recipient-region
- The way in which free text is reported has been changed to standardise multilingual reporting. This requires formatting changes to all text fields.
- Currently fields defined by codes allow for accompanying descriptions. With the exception of countries and regions, the descriptions associated with codes MUST NOT be reported.
- The codes used to define the following fields have to be changed (to make them language neutral)
- Organisation role; Type of Activity Date; Transaction Type; Sector Vocabulary; Gazetteer Agency
- You MUST report dates in the required format
- Your own organisation identifier MUST be prefixed with a valid Organisation Registration Agency code
Things you MAY have to do
- If you currently identify your organisation with an identifier derived from the OECD DAC, you MUST modify this to contain a valid Registration Agency Prefix (such as XM-DAC, or XI-IATI)
- If you are currently using a version lower than 1.04 AND report details of sub-national geographic locations, you MUST adopt all the changes specified in the Version 1.04 upgrade
- If you use any fields that have previously been deprecated (meaning that they have been marked as deleted from the standard but were still usable) you MUST NOT use them anymore.
