nieuw registry agency for germany

Originally from ticket #2041.

While testing I found the registry agency code DE-AG for the
organisation: Fairtrade Labelling Organizations International
organisation ref: DE-AG-VR7795
publisher: fairtrade_international
filename: fairtrade_international-998

After some investigation I found this organisation at
https://www.handelsregister.de with the organisation identifier VR 7795
So my suggestion is to add this registry agency.
AG could be a abbreviation of Ambtsgericht (I send a message to a friend
who had a company in Germany for several years to verify this).

Code: DE-AG
Name: Gemeinsames Registerportal der Länder

    On taking a look at https://www.handelsregister.de/ - and searching (via Normal search) for VR 7795 we found several results (screenshot attached).  These seem to be entities registered in different states.

    Therefore, what is not clear is whether DE-AG-VR-7795 is unique.  Should there be an identifier for the state included?

     

    We can ask others for advice - and please do so to.  In the meantime, we can keep this proposal open for further clarification.

    Hmm looks like it. However when using 'erweitere suche/advanced search' searching in Nordrhein Westfalen, for vr 7795, results in two hits (one in Bonn, one in Dusseldorf), so we need a lower level...

    Search in German, results in: Nordrhein-Westfalen Amtsgericht Bonn VR 7795 and Nordrhein-Westfalen Amtsgericht Düsseldorf VR 7795

    so ambtsgericht looks the right level: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amtsgericht:

    • administration of several public register such as the companies', the associations', the cooperatives' and the land ownership register.

    Not a simple case :-(

    Yes, indeed

    It would be unwise to proceed with adding this to the codelist until we are sure around rules for unique identifiers, which we can dereference....

    I'm not claiming to speaking from a point of authority here, but does the German system for vehicle number plates provides any clue?  I found a map via the wikipedia page, that indicates coding: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_registration_plates_of_Germany , which has linkages to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Administrative_divisions_of_Germany.  As I disclaim - this is poor guesswork !
