Suggestion to allow periods of time as well as events. Could use additional xs:duration for elements such as transaction/transaction date where it is not necessary to have the date as an event in time (as opposed to transaction/value/@value-date or activity-date/@iso-date which must be events , eg for the former the date is for currency conversion, the latter it is not known a priori eg. the end-actual date)
Unsure about what the exact use case for this would be and how the data would be understood, as opposed to specific dates when transactions actually occur and the <budget> element, which is funding provided over a defined timespan. Propose this gets fleshed out a bit more?
We agree that this may have some merit, but needs further work - please feel free to give some more specific arguments and/or examples of how this would work, and the implications for backwards compatibility.
Following a brief discussion, and in light of all the other priorities for 1.04 we think that this is probably an issue to be considered for an integer upgrade, and so if there is agreement this can go into the 2.01 forum.
This has not made any progress as we approach the 1.05 upgrade cut off date. I am moving this into the general Modifications, additions... forum to keep it alive.
