In the same way it is possible to link activities via <related-activity>, and express the relationship (via @type) - it might be useful to include a similar element within the organisation standard.

This proposal has been discussed amongst the IATI Technical Team following the end of the initial suggestion phase of the v2.02 upgrade.
The IATI Technical Team do not plan to include this in the upgrade at this time, partly as addition of this element could cause confusion based on the diverse collection of organisational relationships. This could be mitigated though the creation of a new codelist, although this itself would expert curation.
Additionally, and as noted above, it seems that the initial rationale for the proposal is no longer relevant.
This proposal has been archived as it is not being taken forward in the version 2.02 upgrade of the IATI Standard.
This item has been moved to the '2.02 Decimal Upgrade Proposals' forum for inclusion the upcoming decimal upgrade.
I am a bit doubtful about the added value of this change since very few publishers actually publish an organisation file at this moment. What kind of real world relations between publishers would be represented here?
Hi Herman. Thanks - I had to think on this, as it's was a suggestion from quite some time ago!
From the SIDA Org file, I can see lots of recipient-org-budget elements, but only one iati-organisation: http://iati.openaid.se/xml/sida-org.xml - hence a related-organisation element would have no use. Ill remind Carl of this discussion and see what we have...
I recommend we drop this unless Carl comes up with something substantial
Thanks - have discussed with Carl and we dont think we can present something to take forward in this upgrade.
