Currently the <iati-identifier> element is used in both the activity and organisation schemas, and as such is referenced from the definition in the common schema.
However, the iati-identifier element has a slightly different use in the case of identifying an activity or an organisation.
I'm not sure what to propose. Maybe we remove iati-identifier from the common schema and supply separate definitions in the activity and organisation schemas.
This change is to deal with the problem that in an 'organisation file' the iati-identifier element has a different meaning to an element of the same name used in an activity file.

When adopting version 2.01, publishers would need to alter their organisation files, and any processes for generating those files, to deal with a renaming of the element. Data users would also need to be aware of the change.
This is being addressed in 2.01 - therefore moving this to an appropriate forum.
Am I correct that this would have no impact on current reporting practices?
